The Catonsville Chamber of Commerce is hosting a 3 day, 80s-themed music festival called “Back to the Music” in order to raise money for this year’s 4th of July celebration. The event will be sponsored by several local businesses donating their time and equipment to help coordinate the event, and will feature several local musical acts playing covers and original music inspired by the era.
I designed this 11” x 17” poster to be displayed prominently in the windows of local businesses in order to promote this event. This design leans heavily on the 1980s aesthetic, drawing heavy inspiration from synth wave design. I believe that playing on the audience’s nostalgia, as well as the current interest in the era (as indicated by the popularity of shows like Stranger Things) will help draw engagement to the event.
